In this time of grim austerity, desperate measures are needed to make ends meet. So what do you do if you’re desperate for spare cash and don’t fancy some mind numbingĀ  job as a burger-flipping drone? Well, some chemistry nerd has come up with a simple method of extracting the gold from old computer circuits boards. Naturally, using loads of fun and dangerous chemicals:

Back in the day of the tech boom, gold was considerd obsolete as a currency and its value was rock bottom. So it got slapped onto circuit boards without a worry.

But remember, before you start dropping pc parts into boiling vats of acid in your garden shed, your not going to get much gold really – but hey, chemistry is fun!
